Hi! My name is Alena Molchanova and I am a qualified clinical psychologist with an excellent academic education spanning 8 years and more than 7 years of consulting experience in the field.
From an early age I developed a deep fascination with the mind and relationships between people and made it my aim in life to help people and their understanding of their thoughts, beliefs and the functioning of their brains.
A studious child at school, I developed a keen interest in history, philosophy and the classics; and the differnet ways of understanding the world around us. So I decided to focus my studies toward gaining a Batchelors Degree in Psychological Counselling at the P.G. Demidova Institute at the Yaroslavl State University.
I decided to further develop my understanding of mental disorders and how they affect people in everyday life by taking on a Master's in Psychological Rehabilitation for Disorders of Cognitive and Emotional Processes at the internationally renowned Lomonosov Institute part of the Moscow State University.
I gained my initial professional accreditation in Advanced Clinical Psychology at the Bekhterev Research Institute at the National Medical Research Centre for Psychiatry and Neurology in St Petersburg and gained further professional accreditation as a Qualified Psychoanalyst at the East European Institute of Psychoanalysis in St Petersburg.
Since then I have practiced both privately and through the Tomatis Centre for Mental Development in Moscow, specialising in the Treatment of Autism in Children; the Institute of Mental Health and Addiction in Moscow as a Consultant Psychologist helping patients deal with drug, alcohol and gambling dependency; and the Russian Association of Psychologists in London.
